Q: I am in a new well, when will I receive my first check?
A.  If all information and necessary paperwork has been returned to Artex, you will receive your first check after we are first paid, which is approximately two to three months from its initial operations. If you have any concerns about Artex Oil having your pertinent information, please contact us at 740.373.3313.

Q: How do I change my address?
A.  Change of address requests must be made in writing with an authorized signature to:

You may also fax your request to 740.373.2750. Please include your name, owner number, old address, new address, Tax ID/ Social Security number and a phone number. A form is also available here.

Q: What if I receive my check by direct deposit, but my address has changed?

Q: I have not received my payment, what should I do?
A.  Checks are mailed or direct deposited around the 15th of each month. If your check is more than two weeks late, please contact the Accounting Department so we may research the issue. To avoid postal delays, you may select direct deposit of your payment. During the course of the year, we do not issue checks for less than ten dollars. However, in December, royalty checks for less than ten dollars are issued.

Q: How do I sign up for direct deposit in order to receive my revenue faster?

A.  An email address is NOT required but preferred so we can email your check detail instead of sending it in the mail.. Click here to download a form. You may also receive a form by mail, fax, or email by calling our Accounting Department at 740.373.3313. Your revenue will be deposited into your account around the 15th of the month and your check detail will be emailed or mailed to you. Please make sure the entire form is completed and has an authorized signature.

Q: How do I change my direct deposit information?

Q: What should I do if my check is direct deposited but I did not receive my check detail by email or have accidentally deleted it?
A.  Contact the Accounting Department at 740.373.3313 or by email at distribution@artexoil.us to request an additional email.

Q: What should I do if I did not receive one of the distribution reports?
A.  Contact the Accounting Department at 740.373.3313 or by email at distribution@artexoil.us to request an additional one to be mailed or emailed.

Q: What should I do if I find a check more than 90 days old?
A.  Contact the Accounting Department at 740.373.3313 to determine the status of the check.

Q: Why does my payment amount change?
A.  There are many reasons why the amount of your checks may vary.

  • Market conditions cause fluctuations in oil and gas prices.
  • Operational problems or maintenance may cause production downtime.
  • Oil payments depend on when an oil shipment was made. Payments may be monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on the wells production. Some wells do not produce oil.
  • The volumes of gas and oil decline naturally over time. The gas and oil volumes from some wells fall slowly while others fall rapidly, only time will determine what a particular well will do.

Q: When should I expect my 1099?
A.  Your 1099 information is printed at the bottom of your December “Supplemental Check Voucher”. This is the only 1099 information you will receive. This information will be mailed or emailed to you, depending on your account set-up, around the 15th of December.  Should you misplace your 1099 or need another copy please contact the Accounting Department.

Q: What should I do if I received my 1099 and the Tax ID or Social Security number is incorrect?
A.  Contact the Accounting Department IMMEDIATELY so we can re-issue a corrected 1099 as soon as possible.

Q: Why was Backup Withholding deducted from my revenue check?
A.  We are required by the Internal Revenue Service to withhold 28 percent of all revenue payable to those who have not provided Artex with a proper Tax ID or Social Security number. To provide this information to Artex Oil, please contact us at 740.373.3313.
